Get on a bike or take a leisurely walk on the Riverfront to see these critters sunbathing, chilling and honking their hearts out. These Astoria citizens can be found at East Mooring Basin and along the Riverwalk.
Astoria Column
Built as a monument to the city in 1926 the Astoria Column is an important part of Northwest history. The Column is strategically designed and located and can be seen at various vantage points throughout the town. Climb the 164 steps to the top for a sweeping view of the city below. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop to buy wooden airplanes to see if fly once you reach the top of the column!
Cathedral Tree Trail
One of the most peaceful, rewarding yet relatively easy hiking trails around PNW. This 3-mile round trip hike lets you take in the tranquil wooded area, and all the way right up to the Astoria Column.
Youngs River Falls
Located about 11 miles from the hotel, and it is beautiful year-round. The falls can be viewed from the parking area or reached by a brief hike down the trails. Experience the same natural wonders first discovered in 1806 by Lewis and Clark.
13th Street Alley Mural
Take a walk downtown through the “Ehkahnam,” the new mural painted along the 13th Street Alley that was created for the Astoria Downtown Historic District Association by Astoria artist Andie Sterling. She named the mural after the Chinookan word for story.

An Astoria’s beloved family business that has been a part of this town for three generations. Visit this shop and savor their famous lox and take some home for gifts.
